Ecologically sound
Aluminium has exemplary sustainable credentials. Bauxite, the raw material aluminium is derived from, is one of the most abundant metals found in nature. In 60% of cases, hydroelectric power is utilised to run the smelting plants. 95% of aluminium can be recycled, and it can be recycled over and over again. The act of recycling aluminium requires only 5% of the energy used to produce primary aluminium.
The lifetime of aluminium in buildings is proven to be 40 years or more. A product of such durability, which does not need to be replaced, has a very low environmental impact.

Alutec have 30 years of experience in designing aluminium roof drainage. The Alutec design team provide a fast and reliable service to assist in all aspects of roof drainage design. A full turnkey services is available – from initial design, the selection of the most appropriate rainwater system through to fully detailed estimates. The Alutec design team have experience in all aspects of modern and traditional building methods. Once the gutter and downpipe systems have been selected, a full schedule of component quantities can be produced.
Range
The Alutec collection of rainwater systems fall into three ranges:
- Traditional profiles, designed to emulate cast iron, but without the inherent disadvantages
- Modern systems have the unique Aligator 'snap fit' jointing system that gives a sleek appearance to the roof edge
- Classic ogee stylee domestic gutter is one of the most competitively priced metal gutters on the market
The range also includes a wide range of downpipe sizes and styles and all the ancillaries required for installation.
High Quality Finish
Alutec products can be supplied in mill (uncoated) finish or with a polyester powder coating in a specified colour. The main characteristic of architectural grade polyester powder coatings is the good colour and gloss retention in outdoor exposure. The range of 20 standard colours includes Heritage black, a unique finish, designed to emulate the appearance of cast iron but without the requirement to repaint.
