Forming part of a sustainable urban drainage system (SUDS), porous or permeable paving allows surface water to be controlled at the source. Current legislation dictates that homeowners must seek planning permission if they intend to use an impermeable material to pave over their front garden or replace the existing hard standing driveway. Alternatively, if homeowners want to install a porous solution they will NOT need to obtain planning permission making this an attractive solution.
