Marley Plumbing & Drainage stormwater management systems address the need to deal with rainwater run-off at the source, rather than discharging directly into watercourses or rivers. Central to the range is the new Waterloc250 cell which provides a cost effective and flexible way of creating underground stormwater storage for infiltration and attenuation systems.
The innovative design of Waterloc250 enables the cells to be quickly built into layers and configured to suit the area available. 96% of the cell volume is available to store water, minimising the area needed for the installation.
Waterloc 250 has lifting bars and an arrow moulded into the top face. The cells are assembled by rotating them by 180 degrees from the nested stack.
As with conventional soakaways, concerns have been expressed over the tendency for the plastic cell type structure to silt up over time with no means of cleaning or removal of debris other than total removal and replacement.
However, the use of the Marley Waterloc250 range of components for an infiltration or attenuation scheme provides a number of benefits over conventional installation methods:
- Access to the soakaway for inspection and cleaning
- An inlet chamber for an optional filter and access to the incoming pipe connection for cleaning purposes
- Improved inflow capacity via a single connection to the drainage system
