Insulation is one of the easiest and yet most efficient methods of improving the environmental performance of a building. It can be made of a variety of materials which deliver improved performance in terms of heat loss or gain and acoustics. Despite widespread publicity and the accompanying intervention scheme there are still a huge number of buildings in the UK with less than the recommended level of insulation.
