Water use has come sharply into focus as supplies become limited in some areas. There are may practical methods of reducing water usage in toilets which account for 25% of domestic usage and personal hygiene which accounts for 33% of domestic usage.

Using conventional products in the bathroom will consume, on average, the following amounts of water:

Bath: 110 litres - 20cm deep (8”)
Shower: 30 litres, more for power showers (5 mins)
Toilet flush: 9.5 litres (dual flush toilets),
short flush 5 litres
Basin taps: 8 litres (per minute)
