Thermalite, the leading brand of aerated concrete blocks from Hanson, offers the most environmentally friendly range of aircrete products available in the UK today. Thermalite not only contains up to 80% recycled materials, but is the first block to receive a Certified Environmental Profile and Ecopoints score from the BRE (Building Research Establishment), achieving an ‘A’ rating in the Green Guide to Specification.
Up to 80% of the material used in Hanson’s thermalite blocks is pulverised fuel ash, a by product from coal burning power stations. The micro-cellular structure of the thermalite product offers remarkably high thermal insulation and consequently lowers energy consumption for the heating of buildings.
