Ibstock Fireborn
Fireborn Clay Block fireborn® was launched into the market in autumn 2002 and met with an enthusiastic response. It is a large format clay block with vertical perforations that co-ordinates with standard masonry units. fireborn® appeals to designers and specifiers because its large format allows them to create buildings that look distinctive. Fireborn also provides a cost effective alternative to rain screen cladding.
fireborn® can be used in any external cladding situation in a range of bonds including stack bonding. It can be used structurally and also to complement alternative cladding solutions.Clay has a long service life, is re-usable upon demolition and is completely inert. Clay can be recycled back into manufacture; wastage is minimal. Clay is taken mostly from quarries adjacent to the factories, often in the countryside, where the impact of transport is minimised.
