Pavatex Softwood Fibre Insulation BoardPavatex Softwood Fibre Insulation Board

From manufacture to final disposal as waste, Pavatex products meet all ecological requirements. The raw material for the wood fibre insulation materials consists of slabs, splinters and wood chips of native softwoods which arise as byproducts in sawmills. With wood, a raw material which is renewable, unlimited resources are available. In the manufacturing process in environmentally-friendly production plants, the use of artificial flame-proofing agents, fungicides and pesticides is deliberately avoided. The wood's own substance of lignin is used as the binder, without the addition of further external binding agents; lignin already performs this function in the tree.

Pavatex boards are extremely resistant to ageing, and can be re-used even after decades. The cycle is completed with their disposal as waste: Because they contain natural materials, Pavatex products can be recycled, composted or used to produce heat energy.

Pavatex has for many years supported all efforts to achieve environmentally-friendly processes and products. Until recently there were only few products available leaving the production line in Cham, but since April 2004 the full range of softboard products can be manufactured following the FSC guidelines. Both works, Pavatex AG (subsidiary) Cham and Pavatex SA Fribourg are now certified FSC. Our FSC - products are manufactured with a minimum of 50 % of wood from forests, that are run by taking into consideration the FSC guidelines.
