Castle Cement Lime Products

Lime Products available from Castle Cement:

1. Natural Hydraulic Lime
2. Lime Putty
3. Hydrated Lime

Why Use Lime?

• Allows the building to breathe
• Less rigid than cement mortars
• Weaker than cement mortars – mortar joints and renders should always be weaker than the building units or background
• Can eliminate the need for movement joints on large elevations
• Can heal any cracks due to movement

Environmental Advantages

• Lower Co2 emissions during manufacture as burning at lower temperatures than OPC
• Co2 recombines with the lime during its lifetime, unlike cement
• Reclamation of building materials easier with “soft” lime mortars than if OPC
