1. Can I visit the SBC?
All visits to the SBC are by appointment only.
The building is designed to be a support function for the construction industry and its stakeholders. With this in mind, all visits to the SBC are booked on an individual basis and the content tailored to requirements.

2. Will the SBC be open to the public?
There are a number of public open days held throughout the year at the SBC. Details of these can be found in the Events section within News.
3. What is the purpose of the SBC?
The purpose of the building is to showcase the Wolseley range of sustainable building products and to allow customers to see, feel and experience the products in a real working environment. Customers can select any of the products in the building in the safe knowledge that they are available through the industry's most sophisticated and reliable supply chain.
4. What are the criteria for selecting products?
There are many different criteria which products may exhibit to demonstrate a degree of sustainability. Some may be more energy efficient; some may eliminate the use of fossil fuels; some may include high proportions of re-cycled materials; some may use natural sustainable materials; some may promote water efficiency; some may reduce carbon emissions. So there are many potential reasons for including products. Wolseley will strive to allow customers to understand the characteristics and performance of every product in order that prescribed goals can be attained.
5. Is the product offer constrained to the products shown in the SBC?
No, we have a range of over 7000 products available through Wolseley branches and our experts are committed to scouring the world for new and exciting products to maintain our outstanding range. The SBC is a showcase for a selection of these.
6. How will the SBC be kept up to date?
There are examples of all the major products and technologies within the building which Wolseley is willing to endorse. As new products emerge they will be added to the building wherever appropriate.
7. Is the building self-sufficient in terms of energy?
No, but that was never a goal. Of course it is an extremely efficient building which has achieved a BREEAM Excellent assessment. The building has super insulation and plenty of energy and water efficient products to allow us to achieve extraordinarily low consumption levels.
8. Do Wolseley offer an installation service?
No, Wolseley is dedicated to serving building professionals with first class products that are fit for purpose and value for money. We insist on the highest quality levels from our supply partners and back this up with outstanding service through the construction industry’s most sophisticated and extensive supply chain.
9. Where can I buy sustainable products?

10. Do Wolseley UK have an environmental policy?
Yes, Wolseley has a very robust environmental policy. Full details can be found at www.wolseley.co.uk. The SBC staff work to even more demanding environmental practices and provide the company with indicators of best practice.
