Legislation, regulation and standards are some of the principal drivers for more sustainable construction. These mechanisms may be come from the EU, national or local governments and non governmental organisations. They can take many different forms.

It is also true to say that some of these regulations are subject to amendment which can substantially alter the requirements defined within them. The process of introducing new regulation can often include formal consultation periods which allow stakeholders to express opinions regarding the content.

Wolseley play an active role in regulatory process but sometimes the complexity and weight of regulation is extraordinarily difficult to follow for those not wholly engaged in it.
